🌿Alocasia 'Black Velvet' is a great choice for closed terrariums. This tropical plant has very striking dark green leaves that are quite thick and very textured when they mature. The leaves can get quite large, so it is suited to a larger terrarium that is over 20cm high.Â
🌿They look gorgeous in larger terrariums as a statement plant, with moss growing around the base. We love to use them with dark and bright ferns to create a really moody terrarium.
🌿Alocasias love humidity, so this plant is ideal for closed terrariums. It can be fussy, so they are more suited for experienced terrarium makers. It also likes a bit more heat - if the temperatures go below 10 degrees, it may go dormant.
